“Shorewood is a unique and pedestrian-friendly urban village styled in the European tradition. We are the first suburb north of the city of Milwaukee on the shores of Lake Michigan – bordered by Lake Michigan on the east, the Milwaukee River on the west, and the Village of Whitefish Bay to the north.”
That’s how the About Our Village page on the Village of Shorewood website describes this great place.
Only 1.5 square miles with a population of just over 13,000 it’s cozy and quaint. Half the houses in the village are pre-World War II, lending to the feeling a place that has been spared hyper-modernization.
Multiple parks and a village that is designed to be accessed on foot, this is a wonderful place to get out to the lake, take a walk in the woods, or just go out for a picnic.
Golden Maids is often contacted by folks from Shorewood who simply want the extra time that they have away from work to be about more than cleaning their houses.
