Avoid washing your windows on a bright, sunny day. This is simply to keep the cleaning solution from drying onto the window before you can wipe it off.
The exception to this is if you can work quickly or don’t mind working in small sections. A sunny day can work in your favor will allow you to easily see any spots that are being stubborn or any areas that need a little more scrubbing.

The Earth’s gravity makes starting at the top of your windows an obvious choice. This is because chemicals will run down the windows as you spray but also the fact that a squeegee pushes grime to the bottom of the glass.

If you’re using a squeegee, use the sponge side first and dry with the blade. Be wary of getting water on the floor–you may want to place a towel to catch any drips.
